About Kevin McCants

 

 For more than Two decades I've been teaching art to students of varying levels of skill and experience. With a BA in visual communication from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh,   I have sold paintings to private parties, organizations and businesses. Teaching has been the greatest joy in my life, especially watching the growth and progress of my students.

For the last seven years, I have been teaching private lessons  in  Redondo beach and the surrounding beach areas and also have an ongoing Saturday morning class at Hesse Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.

 

What you will learn:

 

Drawing & Composition:   I will teach you how to look for the mistakes  in your drawings and how to use simple techniques to correct them.

 

Perspective & Tone (shading):  Learn to create depth in your paintings with very basic but often misunderstood tools.

 

Color Theory:  Learning the relationship of color to form and light. Color theory is the body of practical guidance to color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combination.

 

Learn to paint and draw with: Oils, Pastels, Charcoal, Acylics or Watercolor.

 

Learn to paint: Landscapes, Portaits, Ocean Scenes, Still Lifes - Basically whatever inspires you.
